Reason 1. My ‘paid’ work is in publishing; I write. My ‘unpaid’ work is at home with my family. Whilst grateful for the blessings that come with the availability of maternity leave, the ‘paid’ work part of my brain does feel somewhat neglected. Perhaps blogging is the balance my lopsidedly challenged brain requires?
Reason 2. Being a new mum is a big deal, anyone who has raised a child or two will tell you this. Most new mums have some sort of support network close to hand, whether that be family, friends or professionals. Geography and time differences mean I also look outside of family for some of the day to day tips one usually derives from grandparents and aunties over a cuppa and a chat. Perhaps blogging is an avenue to pass on best practices I have learnt?
Reason 3. I like to write. In my junior schooling years holidays often included story writing or a study of world current affairs - for fun. As an adult I have had an insatiable appetite for study. Perhaps blogging is my new writing outlet?
Reason 4. I talk alot. Anyone who knows me well, (even just a little), will attest to this. I am often (rightly) accused of verboseness in my speech and written work. Perhaps blogging is my way to being a lean, mean, efficient communication machine?
Reason 5. Why not?
Next time: what might you expect of my blog content..?
